The Drafting program at DXATC strives to prepare students for careers as drafters in various industries. Students will study hand drafting along with computer drafting. The computer programs AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and Solid Works are all drafting industry standards and are all covered at DXATC providing students with the skills and computer experience required in various drafting employment fields. Architectural, civil, and mechanical drafting are the areas of specialization offered. The drafting curriculum is designed to provide hands on drafting experience along with typical industry projects which give a basic understanding of what is being drafted and what drafters do.

McMurrin is a principle in the architectural firm MESA Consulting and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He has completed numerous architectural projects, large and small, throughout Utah and neighboring state; he brings this experience to DXATC. He received an Associate of Arts Degree from Los Angeles Valley College; a Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Northridge; and a graduate MArch professional architectural degree from the University of California, UCLA.
Matt was raised and attended school in Enterprise, Utah. He spent ten years working in the retail distribution industry. His passion for CAD design and 3D printing led him to the DXATC Drafting & Design program. Upon earning his certificate, he worked for several local firms and businesses. DXATC is thrilled to have Matt teaching Mechanical Drafting, using his passion and knowledge to help students become successful CAD drafters.
